Chiropractic wellness approach and the importance of spinal joint motion

I could talk for hours about the impact chiropractic care can have on improving peoples lives. But one particular topic that I find myself telling people all the time is, slowing down spinal joint degeneration and improving nervous system function. Many sources are citing low back pain as the number one cause of disability in adults and also as a major source of where healthcare dollars are going (for treatment). How can chiropractic care help this situation? In a nutshell chiropractic can help by improving spinal joint mobility/range of motion.

Essentially as we live our lives outside forces and stresses from such things such as traumas, accidents, repetitive use, improper lifting techniques, and poor posture (just to name a few) result in poor biomechanics/spinal motion. The results of poor motion are generally stiffness and pain in the area that is affected the most, To address these issues chiropractic adjustments are used to help restore proper motion at the affected segments which helps restore motion, decrease pain by the release of endorphins, and decrease muscle tone/spasm. Ultimately by the use of chiropractic adjustments to address spinal joint hypomobility (poor motion) we can improve symptoms as they related to spinal joint degeneration and slow down the degenerative process.
